Bright, even, light yellow with some depth. The nose is freshly vibrant with aromas of lime, flint, yoghurt and a light note of honey mead. Medium-light bodied, flavours of lime expended to grapefruit and its pith, melded with flinty barrel note, mead, saline and yoghurty creaminess. The fruit has good intensity and concentration, balanced by mouthwatering acidity and a bit of salinity. The creamy lees work rounded out the taut acidity, along with the flintiness from new barrels, added interest and a spiced mouthfeel. This is an unusual Riesling with flavours of lime and grapefruit, mead, flinty barrel note on a creamy lees texture line. Match with fresh sardines and game fish over the next 3-4 years. Bright, ruby-red with some depth, gradually lighter on the rim. The nose is elegant, aromas of raspberries, poached rhubarb, red cherries, entwined with wild thyme, earth and barrel spices. Medium-full bodied, flavours of red cherries, black raspberries, along with wild thyme, an amalgam of oak spices lingers to a spicy black pepper finish. The tannin is fine-grained with a noticeable presence, provides grip and structure. Earthy notes and herbs are growing stronger as it aerated, fill the palate with good weight. Lively acidity provides balance and freshness to a sustained finish with peppery spice. This is a medium-full bodied Pinot Noir with flavours of red fruit, wild thyme and barrel spices on a noticeable fine-grained tannin structure with a good grip. Match with roasted pork and lamb over the next 3-5 years. Fruit from Alexandra basin 80%, Pisa 20%. Handpicked, 15% whole-bunches, fermented to 13.6% alc.
