Rockface 2014 and Bishops Head 2014 – 2012 Releases

07-Oct-2015
Rockface and Bishops Head are the brands for Peter Saunders’ Waipara Valley winemaking venture. Following extensive experience overseas and in Marlborough, Peter established his business in 2006 with 19 ha of vines on a 25 ha property on Mackenzie Road. He has Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Chenin Blanc and Pinot Noir. The Rockface wines are accessible and varietally expressive, while the Bishops Head wines made to have greater textures and complexities. The names ‘Rockface’ and ‘Bishops Head’ refer to a distinctive limestone rockface in the Waipara Gorge. Here, I review two 2014 vintage Rockface wines and a selection of Bishops Head releases spanning 2014 to 2012. www.bishopshead.co.nz
