Rockface 2012 Pinot Gris, and 2013 Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir

20-Nov-2013
Rockface is the second label of Bishops Head, a boutique winery on Mackenzies Road in the Waipara Valley. The name ‘Rockface’ is taken from an imposing limestone rock face known as ‘Bishops Head’ in the Waipara Gorge. While the premium Bishops Head wines are made in a European style, the Rockface wines are designed to be varietally expressive. Run by managing director Peter Saunders and winemaker Paul Hewett who both have extensive overseas and local winemaking experience, Bishops Head has 19 ha of vines on the 25 ha property. Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Chenin Blanc and Pinot Noir are produced. www.bishopshead.co.nz
