Under the winemaking of Malcolm Rees-Francis, Rockburn Wines makes a diverse range of high quality and interesting Central Otago wines. However, it is Pinot Noir that is the focus, and the Rockburn Pinot Noir is one of the most consistent wines of the region, regularly winning top awards. Malcolm has ‘The Barrel’ and ‘The Art’ Pinot Noirs to express individuality, but the ‘estate’ Pinot Noir’s performance is based on the regular fruit source of Parkburn and Gibbston fruit which lends richness and ripeness with just that edginess of something cooler to keep things really interesting.
