Rockburn Central Otago Pinot Gris 2015

06-Nov-2015
Rockburn’s winemaker Malcolm Rees-Francis has been with the company since 2005, and over that decade, he has developed the wine styles to show greater elegance and complexity, such that the Pinot Noir is one of the most successful in the region on the show circuit. All of the other varieties are also in a state of evolution and development, the one most noticeable to me being Riesling, where the medium-sweet Spatlese style of the ‘Tigermoth’ has been a star. Now, it may be the turn of Pinot Gris to change in style. Malcolm tells me he’s introduced a new approach with the 2015 vintage. Here is my review of the wine. www.rockburn.co.nz
