Rock Ferry and Trig Hill Whites


One can sense the building momentum of the Rock Ferry wine operation of Tom and Fiona Hutchison as the Rock Ferry Marlborough and Trig Hill labels become more prominent in the marketplace. The base of the wines are their three vineyards, ‘The Corners’ 13.5 ha vineyard in the Rapaura district, the ‘Trig Hill’ 19 ha Bendigo, Central Otago site developed from 2003, and the 9.5 ha ‘Orchard’ vineyard in the Wairau, purchased in 2007. The fruit is grown organically and biodynamically, Rock Ferry being a member of ‘Mana’, Marlborough Natural Winegrowers. Kurt Simcic and Jason Thomson tend the Marlborough and Central Otago vineyards respectively, and the wines made by Allan McWilliams.
