Pied Stilt 2015 Albarino and ‘Special Label’ Pinot Noir 2010

17-Feb-2016
The Pied Stilt label was created by the Jackson family based near Motueka with the 2009 vintage, following several years as contact growers. They established their vineyard near the Motueka Sandspit on the site of a 12 ha apple orchard in 2001, planting Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. In 2011 they added Albarino to the mix with further plantings in 2014/2015. The wines are made by Stefan Heinrich at the Anchorage Wines facility. Here, I review the first release of the Albarino, from the 2015 vintage and the ‘Special Label’ Pinot Noir from 2010. www.piedstilt.co.nz
