Peregrine's reputation has been high-flying ever since they took the Champion Trophy for Sauvignon Blanc at the Air New Zealand Wine Awards with their inaugural 1998 vintage. The most recent success was Champion Wine of the Show at last year's Air New Zealand Wine Awards with their 2009 Pinot Noir. The winery continues its high-flying way, the wines certainly at the top level. The very experienced and meticulous Nadine Cross, ex-Wither Hills, is the winemaker, taking over from Peter Bartle who left in early 2010. Peregrine will no doubt continue flying at giddy heights, as these latest releases show. www.peregrinewines.co.nz
