
Pegasus Bay winery is one of the top wineries in Canterbury. The Donaldson family have been seriously involved in winemaking since the 1970s and were pioneers of grape growing and winemaking.
Proudly family owned; their eldest son Matthew is the winemaker, his wife Di assists with winery logistics and systems. Ed is the Marketing Manager, his wife Belinda looks after the winery's restaurant, now a function/event venue. Michael is the Local Sales Manager, and the youngest son Paul is the winery's Manager.
Pegasus Bay vineyard is largely un-grafted, producing low-yields, quality fruit. Sustainable winemaking with minimal handling of fruit during processing and gentle pressing. They allow wines to go through natural malolactic fermentation and clarification by settling, without the use of fining agents. All Pegasus Bay wines are made with estate-grown fruit from their home vineyard.
