Pegasus Bay 2016 Gewurztraminer and 2013 Pinot Noir

01-Dec-2016
There’s a house style of palate richness and plenty of varietal flavour, along with relatively subtle funkiness that makes the Pegasus Bay wines appealing to both wine professionals and wine consumers. Winemaker Mat Donaldson has realised the importance of this house style by continually experiencing the best wines of the world, a process that was instigated by tasting with his parents and family, and his wide circle of wine friends. The house style is constantly evolving, quietly so, to have the wines more detailed and elegant, without losing that all important all-round appeal. I‘ve enjoyed what the Donaldson family have done so much that I awarded Pegasus Bay my ‘Winery of the Year’ in 2013. The wines are still delicious. Here I review the new release 2016 Pegasus Bay Gewurztraminer and 2013 Pinot Noir. www.pegasusbay.com
