Pask 2013 ‘Gimblett Road’ Merlot, Cabernet Blend and Syrah

09-Jun-2015
Chris Pask was the pioneer of the Gimblett Gravels and produced his first wines with the 1985 vintage from vines planted in 1981. The Pask winery has stood the test of time celebrating 30 years recently, and while much is different, the aim of producing the finest Hawke’s Bay wines remains. Nowadays, Chris Pask has Kate Radburnd alongside, joining in 1991, now managing director and chief winemaker, and financial guru John Benton coming on board as a director in 1999. With 90 ha devoted to vineyard, the produce of the Gimblett Gravels will always be the focus. Here, I review the 2013 Merlot, Cabernet/Merlot/Malbec and Syrah under the ‘Gimblett Road’ tier. www.pask.co.nz
