Palliser Estate Chardonnay 2015 and ‘Great Ted’ Pinot Noir 2014

16-Mar-2016
The premium Palliser Estate wines are among the more elegant and refined of the Martinborough district. Winemaker Allan Johnson has been guiding them down the path of finesse and subtle complexity, and these are styles which are appreciated by the discerning consumer. They are wines which deserve quiet contemplation, but they also develop over the course of a meal to match flavour and texture. The evolution of the wines is particularly noticeable in the Chardonnay. Pinot Noir is also shows more class than ever before, but also reflects the growing season strongly. Here, I review the new release ‘Estate’ Chardonnay 2015, and the eighth and latest of the limited release ‘Great Dogs’ Pinot Noirs, the ‘Great Ted’ 2014. www.palliser.co.nz
