Odyssey Marlborough Pinot Noir 2012

09-Jul-2014
First made in 1994, Rebecca Salmond’s Odyssey label has a real sense of history. Her Gisborne Chardonnays from the Hexton Hills and Marlborough wines made from Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir have a very loyal following based on their quality and strong style. The certified BioGro organic ‘Odyssey’ vineyard in the hills of the Brancott Valley has 10 ha of close-planted vines, which Rebecca personally manages. The vineyard features six clones of Pinot Noir, these being 115, 777, 5, 10/5, Abel and 667, providing diversity for the wine. Here, I review the new release 2012 Pinot Noir. www.odysseywines.co.nz
