Nieto Senetier 2014 and 2013 Argentine Reds

19-Feb-2015
Bodegas Nieto Senetiner was founded in 1888 when it was founded by Italian immigrants who established the first vineyards in Vistalba, Lujan de Cuyo, in Mendoza. The Nieto and Senetiner families acquired the business in 1969 and it became part of the Grupo de Nogocios de Molinos Rio de Plata in 1998. The company draws fruit from 400 ha of vines over 3 estates and markets a full range of varietals as well as sparkling wines. Here, I review a selection from the value ‘Benjamin’ tier and the classical ‘Nieto Senetiner’ ranges. The 2014 vintage was a difficult, rain-affected year, whereas 2013 was an outstanding, late harvest. www.nietosenetiner.com The wines are imported by Blackboard Wines and available at www.winesale.co.nz
