Murdoch James 2013 Whites and Rosé, and 2012 Red Releases

13-May-2014
The confidence with which Murdoch James is operating is a sign of the new vitality that the Martinborough winegrowing district is experiencing. The investment of Charles Zhang in Murdoch James in March 2011 has enabled a consolidation and growth of the business and an export flourish. The recent news that the company has acquired Alana Estate and extra land is exciting, signalling another step for the Fraser family. Surely such advances add to the positivity of the staff and ambience at work, and the changes must ultimately be reflected in the wines? I do sense this in the recent Murdoch James releases made by Carl Fraser. Here, I review a selection of 2013 whites and a rosé, and 2012 reds, which reinforce this impression of continued progress. www.murdochjames.co.nz
