Mt Beautiful – Good Looking Whites

01-Sep-2011
In establishing their vineyard above the Waiau River in the Cheviot Hills, North Canterbury in 2004, David and Leigh Teece created a new wine-growing region in New Zealand. Mt Beautiful has 50 ha of Sauvignon Blanc, 12 ha of Pinot Noir, 5 ha of Pinot Gris and 3 ha of Riesling. Viticulture is in the hands of Fin Grieve and winemaking is by the very experienced Sam Weaver. I review two of the whites. www.mtbeautiful.co.nz
