Mount Dunstan 2013 Pinot Noir and Reserve Pinot Noir

Mount Dunstan is a label of John and Christine Rasmussen who run a co-operative of private vineyard owners in the Alexandra region of Central Otago. The vineyards are planted to Pinot Noir and measure 48 ha. They are primarily sources of contact fruit, but quantities of wine are made for the owners. Christine is responsible for the viticulture while John looks after the machinery, sales and marketing. Here, I review the Mount Dunstan 2013 Pinot Noir, made by Jed Penkman at South Island Vintners, and finish by Pete Bartle at VinPro, and the 2013 ‘Reserve’ Pinot Noir made by Kevin Clark and Fred Reinds.
