Mount Brown Waipara Pinot Noir Rosé 2016

23-Sep-2016
Catherine Keith is growing her Waipara Valley ‘Mount Brown’ brand steadily with a succession of high quality, good value bottlings, supported by the limited release ‘Grand Reserve’ wines and the secondary ‘Wild River’ releases. The successful Waipara Valley varietals of Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Pinot Noir are supplemented by innovative wines such as those made from Tempranillo or using sophistication vinification techniques. Several years ago, she made a rosé wine, but she deemed it too sweet. The rosé category has since become much more popular, and in 2016, a good year for Pinot Noir especially, Catherine has made another rosé, with lessons learnt from the earlier effort. Here is my review of the wine. www.mountbrown.co.nz
