Martinborough Vineyard and Te Tera Releases

Martinborough Vineyard joined Te Kairanga under the Foley Family Wines umbrella earlier this year. With the change of ownership, Martinborough Vineyard has the impetus to move forward again, following a period where trading was difficult. Judging by the revitalisation at Te Kairanga (click here to see my report on visiting and tasting the latest releases), we can expect similar things to happen at Martinborough Vineyard. Indeed, I’ve seen the collegiality between winemakers Paul Mason at Martinborough Vineyard and John Kavanagh grow into a stronger familial relationship and the support they can offer each other must be gratifying. Martinborough Vineyard has had a very strong track record from the very start, and the quality of the wines has never faltered. So is it too much to ask for an even greater output of outstanding offerings in the near future? Here, I review a selection of new and current releases under Te Tera’ and ‘Martinborough Vineyard’ tiers.

  • Martinborough Vineyard ‘Te Tera’ Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014
