Margrain 2015 Martinborough Pinot Rosé and Gruner Veltliner

25-Sep-2015
Established in 1992, Graham and Daryl Margrain set their Martinborough winegrowing venture to produce the classical styles of the district. Along the way, some eclectic varieties and styles have become part of the range, offering considerable diversity. The Pinot Rosé became an overnight success and nowadays winemaker Strat Canning makes three times what he made in 2012. Also in 2015, Margrain obtained a small parcel of the emerging Gruner Veltiner variety from Te Muna Valley, this replacing the Gewurztraminer that could not be supplied this year. I review the two wines here. www.margrainvineyard.co.nz
