Main Divide 2013 Chardonnay and Riesling, and 2012 Pinot Noir

28-Nov-2014
The Main Divide wines of the Donaldson family of Pegasus Bay renown have taken a life of their own that they are regarded as a separate entity requiring their own winemaking, management, logistics, marketing and sales. They remain intimately linked to the Pegasus Bay wines, and indeed made by the same team led by Matthew Donaldson, in a similar crowd-pleasing style, but from contracted rather than estate fruit. Thus, they are priced more affordably, and offer great value. It is no wonder they are a success. Here I review the 2013 Chardonnay and Riesling, and 2012 Pinot Noir, these three varieties arguably the best of the Waipara Valley region. www.maindivide.com
