Lil Rippa Wines – Value for Shoestring Budgeteers

30-Mar-2011
These wines come from two rather clever guys who want to win the hearts and pockets of those on a bit of a shoestring budget. Their aim is very good quality wines that over-deliver and are ‘little rippers' Michael Pearce and Mike Poff formed ‘Shoe String Wines' to make and market their wines through FMCG, traditional and on-line channels. Both have a background in wine and hospitality, working together in the 1990s, and understand the need for affordable wines to enjoy on an everyday basis, Pearce establishing a wine bar/bistro/wine store in Washington DC in 2007 thus with hands-on market experience and the role of developing exports. Poff in particular has the extra expertise of specialising in viticulture with Villa Maria and Mud House, and this has enabled the sourcing of quality fruit from sought-out sites. The wines are fresh, modern, up-front, true to variety and very drinkable. www.shoestringwines.com
