La Bascula Spanish Wine Range

04-Sep-2013
‘La Bascula’ is a range of Spanish wines from Englishman Ed Adams MW and South African winemaker Bruce Jack. The call it "a shared vision of balance and authenticity” where the range combines indigenous Spanish varieties and modern winemaking. The philosophy is for small volumes of wine that are high in quality, with the Spanish varieties being the feature, and the wines demonstrating their origins. The modern winemaking and handling is to produce "fine, ripe, concentrated wines without some of the dryness on the finish that is sometimes evident even in the top Spanish offerings”. My impressions are of wines exactly as Adams and Jack have intended. They are deliciously fruity, but clearly reflect their provenance. www.labascula.net The wines are imported and distributed in New Zealand by Caro’s Wine Merchants. www.caros.co.nz
