Kingsmill ‘Tippet’s Dam’ Pinot Noir 2009

09-Oct-2012

Philip Horn and Donna Abrams' small ‘Tippet's Dam' vineyard above the historic Bannockburn sluicings has a proven track record for quality Pinot Noir fruit. There are 12,000 vines planted, 60% to Dijon clones and 40% to older clones for diversity. The first wine was the 2006, and since then, every wine produced from the site has been a quality one. I review the new 2009 release. The winemaker is Malcolm Rees-Francis of Rockburn. www.kingsmillwines.co.nz
