Ian Miller and June Hamilton operate Kaimira Estate in Brightwater, Nelson. They own over 26 ha of vineyard over three sites, the 6 ha ‘River Terrace’, 10 ha ‘Winery Block’ and 10.5 ha ‘Livingston Road’ sites, these certified AsureQuality organic since 2013. The first plantings were in 1997 and continued to 2006, the expansion culminating in the building of a new winery in 2007. There are 13 varieties planted, and the range of wines under the ‘Kaimira Estate’ and ‘Brightside’ ranges made by the very experienced Shayne Cox is very broad.
