Kahurangi Estate Nelson Dry Riesling 2014

26-May-2016
In purchasing the former and original Seifried Estate in 1998, Greg and Amanda Day took ownership of some the South Island’s oldest vines. The Days understand the value of such significant resource and tend the vines with much care and attention. The maturity of the wines has resulted in a full balance of the plants with the land, and the yields and quality offer fruit consistency at the top level. Experienced tasters claim to see greater concentration and nuance in old vine wines. Here, I review the Kahurangi Dry Riesling 2014, made from fruit from vines which are now 43 y.o., planted in 1973. www.kahurangiwine.com
