Ka Tahi ‘Rangatira’ 2015 Syrah and Malbec

27-Dec-2016
Three partners, operating in the growing and food industries established the ‘Ka Tahi’ wine brand in 2015, and became shareholders in the Hawke’s Bay Wine Company. ‘Ka Tahi’ means ‘The One’ in Maori and refers to the complementary nature of wine to their businesses. Their first releases were from the 2013 and 2014 vintages, and the wines are made by Rod McDonald who manages the Hawke’s Bay Wine Company. The brand is Hawke’s Bay focussed, the company leasing vines in the Gimblett Gravels, but the wines can include fruit from other regions. Ka Tahi has just released their first ‘reserve’ wines, named ‘Rangatira’ which means ‘Esteemed One’. The wines are from the 2015 vintage, a Syrah and Malbec, from Gimblett Gravels fruit. www.katahiwines.com
