Johner Estate Gladstone Pinot Noir 2010 – Second Bottling

27-Feb-2013
At the end of Dakins Road in the Gladstone district of the Wairarapa is Johner Estate. It's always worthwhile making the journey out to visit, as one can be assured of a warm welcome. The positive attitude and enthusiasm flows from the top; Karl Johner is one of the regions strongest supporters, and has participated in as many of the greater Wairarapa's promotions as possible. I note that with the activity is a sure and steady growth in the confidence with the wines. Here, I review the second bottling of Johner's signature wine, the Gladstone Pinot Noir, from the 2010 vintage. The wine has been kept in stainless-steel tank and the filtering has brightened the fruit according to Karl. It can be identified by the "gd” after the Lot Number on the back label. My review in October 2012 for the first bottling is listed at the bottom of the wine review page. www.johner-estate.com
