It is eye-opening to see how different approaches are taken to launch a new wine brand on the market. While some seem minimally prepared with a modest amount of thought to the quality and presentation, let alone the target market, others are systematic and organised from the start of the process. The Haha range of wines is one of the latter, and it has been a pleasure to see it happen. Fern Ridge is a Hawke's Bay-based company, and its Haha brand has been developed by marketer Ashton Ireland. Key to its success has been the involvement of highly-respected wine consultant John Belsham who has selected the wine according to strict specifications, and thus the wines offer real quality and value.
