The Grant Burge wine operation has a history stretching back to 1855, but the modern business owes its reputation to fifth generation Grant Burge who began his work championing the Barossa Valley in 1988. The key to the Gant Burge fame and quality was in the identification of exceptional and individual vineyard sites in which certain varieties performed very well. The Accolade group acquired the Grant Burge business including the brand name and historic Krondorf winery at Tanunda in December 2014. Craig Stansborough is the chief winemaker, overseeing the production of the wines from the iconic ‘Meshach’, ‘Shadrach’ and ‘Abednego’ bottlings through to the value ‘gb’ range. Here’ I review the latest ‘Vineyard Range’ bottlings. www.grantburgewines.com.au The wines are distributed in New Zealand by Hancocks. www.hancocks.co.nz
