  Full, even straw-yellow colour with lemon-golden hues, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is full, broad and voluminous with accessible aromas of clean and fresh white stonefruits and citrus fruits, with white floral notes, entwined with subtle nutty and mealy layers and flinty, mineral nuances, unveiling some creamy barrel ferment and MLF suggestions. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the flavours ae tightly bound and elegant in presentation with light and restrained flavours of white stonefruits and florals, citrus elements, and nuances of nuts and flint. The mouthfeel is bright and enlivened by fresh acidity lending a degree of lusciousness to the fruit. The wine follows a fine-grained phenolic line, with the flavours receding to a lightly nuanced stonefruit and minerally finish. This is a light-fruited Bourgogne Chardonnay with some luscious white stonefruit flavours along with nuts, flint and minerals on a fine, grainy, brisk palate. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood over the next 4 years. Bourgogne Chardonnay vinified and elevaged by Jean Charton for Giesen, the fruit fermented in tank and barrel to 14.0% alc., and the wine aged in new and seasoned oak with batonnage, undergoing MLF. 17.0/20 Oct 2016 RRP $32.99
