Fromm 2015, 2014 and 2013 La Strada, and 2014 and 2013 Clayvin Releases

Evolving over the two decades plus from its founding in 1992, Fromm captures the best of the modern expression of Marlborough. The ‘La Strada’ range of varietals covers the strong performing styles that the region is capable of, and offers the keen wine enthusiast an affordable way to enjoy the Fromm style. The ‘single vineyard’ expressions of ‘Clayvin’ and ‘Fromm’ take the drinker to rare bottlings of site and terroir, with a sense of breeding and a track record of 20 years. Fromm is unique in this way in Marlborough, and this is due to the philosophies of founder Georg Fromm, who has now handed the reins of the business to Pol Lenzinger and Georg Walliser, and also to the practical drive an determination of founding winemaker Hatsch Kalberer, who still continues to guide the wine styles today. The younger generation of GM William Hoare and Adam Balasoglou in marketing round off the team at Fromm, making it balanced, capable and forward thinking. Here, I review the new release 2015, 2014 and 2013 ‘La Strada’ wines, the 2014 Riesling Spatlese, and the ‘Clayvin’ 2013 Chardonnay and 2014 Pinot Noir.
