French Peak 2015 Rosé and Pinot Grigio

08-Dec-2015
French Peak is the wine venture of Tim and Heidi Herbert who purchased the former French Farm site on Banks Peninsula in 2008. Their ‘Valley Road’ vineyard is 3.5 ha and is planted to Chardonnay and two Dijon clones of Pinot Noir, established in 1989, and with Pinot Gris planted in 2005. The Herberts decided on their own label which they released from the 2011 vintage. They have Simon McGeorge of Waipara Hills as their contracted winemaker, and the vineyard is tended by Kapil Watts and his partner Jasika Bajwa both having studied viticulture at Lincoln University and gained practical experience in vineyards in different regions. Here, I review the 2015 Rosé and Pinot Grigio. www.frenchpeakwines.com
