Framingham, Ribbonwood and F-Series 2015 and 2014 Releases

26-Oct-2015
Framingham is the consummate Marlborough aromatic wine producer. Winemaker Dr Andrew Hedley is arguably this country’s best Riesling maker, consistently making a startling range of wines across the equivalent German pradikat range from Kabinett to Trockenbeerenauslese over the past several years. But the Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminers have been practically at the same level. Taking the broader definition of ‘aromatics’ as adopted by the International Aromatic Wine Competition, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir can be included, and again Framingham is a very smart label. Here, I review a broad range of aromatic wines under the second label ‘Ribbonwood’, premium label ‘Framingham’ and limited-edition ‘F-Series’ tiers from the 2015 and 2014 vintages. www.framingham.co.nz
