From the beginning, Framingham Wines has been an aromatic specialist. Though Sauvignon Blanc makes the largest part of the crush, it is Riesling especially that this Marlborough label has become recognised for. With Riesling vines that are 30 years old, winemaker Andrew Hedley has special resource to work with, and his attitude of individuality comes through in the range of wines made, with this variety, as well as the others that are handled at Framingham. The ‘Framingham' wines are more mainstream in style, whereas the ‘F-Series' gives Andrew and his team the latitude to play with smaller quantities of wines that sit outside the norm. Often, this involves riskier winemaking. The ‘Ribbonwood' wines, made by Framingham are a ‘price fighting' label allowing them to operate in different channels of distribution. In all of the ranges, the quality is exemplary. www.framingham.co.nz
