While Framingham is primarily a Sauvignon Blanc producer, that variety accounting for by far the majority of the output, the aromatic varieties are what the company seems to have gained a reputation for expertise in. Riesling is the most prominent wine for wine aficionados, and Andrew Hedley and his team make a diverse range extremely successfully. However, Framingham’s Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer wines are also outstanding, being made in the Alsace style. Framingham claim that it is small batch winemaking and the inclusion of diverse and individual components that is one of the keys to the style of all of the wines. Here, I review the new 2013 Sauvignon Blanc, and 2012 Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer wines. www.framingham.co.nz
