Framingham 2013 Pinot Noir and 2011 F-Series Pinot Noir

16-Jun-2014
Framingham has one of the best reputations for aromatic white wine in Marlborough and indeed New Zealand, with the Riesling expressions from dry and funky right through to classical medium and to decadently sweet particularly noteworthy. However, winemakers Andrew Hedley and Andrew Brown have been making strong progress with Pinot Noir, mirroring the advances of the Marlborough region with the variety as vines and vineyards become more mature, and winemaking grows in sensitivity to reflect site and incorporate greater subtle complexities. The Framingham ‘estate’ label is the varietal and regional expression, whereas the ‘F-Series’ allows the latitude for more interesting things. Here, I review the latest Pinot Noir offerings from Framingham. www.framingham.co.nz
