Forrest 2014 ‘Doctors’ Arneis, and Forrest Riesling and Malbec

06-Apr-2016
It’s a credit to John Forrest that he combines tradition with the best of innovation. His Marlborough wines cover the range of what is well-establish and proven to be successful, but he has led with trialling new varieties and styles, these wines primarily bottled under ‘The Doctors’ label. John seems to succeed with all of them, testifying to his scientific and pragmatic approach to making tasty and satisfying wines. Here, I review the still-innovative ‘Doctors’ Arneis, the classical Forrest Riesling, and Forrest Malbec, from the Bordeaux red variety which has some success in the cooler Marlborough vignoble, all from the 2014 vintage. www.forrest.co.nz
