Fairbourne and Fernhook 2015 Marlborough Sauvignon Blancs

19-Sep-2016
Fairbourne Estate is the super-premium Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc venture of Russell Hooper and Sarah Inkersell, two long-standing operators in the region’s industry, Russell with expertise in marketing and Sarah as a winemaker. Their aim is to showcase the quality and style of wines made from fruit grown on north-facing hillsides on the Southern Valleys, the wines crafted to stand tall with top flight international examples of the grape. The wines made to date ae indeed truly refined and elegant, with far more stylish fruit expression and the most subtle complexities, the beauty of the wines resting on their delicacy and stylishness. Within the Fairbourne Estate portfolio is the ‘Fernhook’ label, espousing the same ideals, but created as a wine to serve the U.S. market in particular. Here, I review the 2015 releases of these wines. www.fernhook.comwww.fairbourne.co.nz
