Escarpment ‘Nina’ Martinborough Rosé 2015

11-Jan-2016
The growth of the Rosé wine category over the last few years has been nothing short of phenomenal. Producers not only should have a rosé wine in their portfolio if they can, but make it purposefully, rather than as a by-product of red wine making. The market has become increasingly discerning, and quality as well as style is crucial to be competitive. Larry McKenna and Huw Kinch of Escarpment Vineyard in Te Muna Road, Martinborough clearly have experience and expertise working with Pinot Noir. Here, I review their first rosé wine, bearing the name ‘Nina’.  Nina Rose is Larry’s daughter's name. www.escarpment.co.nz
