Elephant Hill 2014 Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir

25-Nov-2015
It is easy to think of Elephant Hill producing only the classical Hawke’s Bay wine styles of Chardonnay, Syrah and the Bordeaux varieties. But the company based a significant portion of its original plantings in Te Awanga for the production of white wines, and sourced fruit from outside of Hawke’s Bay to make a broad and balanced portfolio. Here, I review two wines that are reminders of the breadth of style that Elephant Hill makes: a 2014 Hawke’s Bay Sauvignon Blanc and 2014 Central Otago Pinot Noir. www.elephanthill.co.nz
