Elefante Garnacha 2013 and Caravan Petite Sirah 2013

30-Jun-2014
With the winter months upon us, Jonty Hamer and Misha Taylor of Procure Liquor have new offerings of rich and hearty flavoursome reds, the styles of which have proven to be extremely successful for them. Previously, I have reviewed the Elefante Tempranillo/Shiraz 2011 (click here to see), and here I have the Elefante Garnacha, also from La Mancha in Spain, made in a modern in expression with sweetness and accessibility. Earlier, I rated the ‘Caravan’ Durif 2012 19.0/20 (click here to see) and I review the the Quarisa ‘Caravan’ Petite Sirah 2013, the same grape as Durif, made to be mouthfilling and opulent, while exhibiting true varietal character. www.procureliquor.co.nz
