Earthworks is a brand of Hill-Smith Family Vineyards of Yalumba fame. The wines are made from fruit from family growers who have their vineyards on Barossa Valley soils. The winemaking aims to preserve the regionality of the wines and respect the traditions and the independence not only of the growers but that of the district. The wines are made by Andrew La Nauze, working with the Hill-Smith family since 2004. Here, I review the 2015 Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. The wines are very modern and contemporary with a bright fruit focus, firm tannins and fresh acidity. www.earthworkswines.com
