In the middle of August, last month, I attended the mail order tasting of the Dry River 2013 Spring Release wines at the Museum Hotel in Wellington. There, winemaker Wilco Lam and administrator Heather Gibbs presented their new wines. As reported in my blog article (click here to see), these wines included the first wines totally managed by the new team, as well as those under the care of Poppy and Shayne Hammond. A very pleasant surprise was the attendance of Dry River’s founders Neil and Dawn McCallum at the tasting, who pronounced the wines classical Dry River style. The McCallums have been very supportive of the continuance of Dry River under the new team and are clearly proud of their efforts. Here, I have conducted full reviews of the wines under my more stringent tasting conditions and offer my assessments of them. www.dryriver.co.nz
