Dog Point Sauvignon Blanc 2013

28-Oct-2013
The 2013 Sauvignon Blanc is the tenth release of Ivan Sutherland and James Healy’s stainless-steel fermented wine under the Dog Point label. The wine has quickly become one of the noteworthy expressions of the variety and the region, and it has done so based on the viticultural and winemaking experience and expertise Ivan and James who have each amassed over 30 years of working in the industry. The fruit for the wine comes from the company’s vines, planted at the confluence of the Brancott and Omaka Valleys, and they are among the oldest in Marlborough, this contributing to the quality. Ivan and James have taken the path of minerally complexity with the positive influence of lees work, and it is easy to see the resemblance to their highly sought-after ‘Section 94’ wine. Here, I review the 2013 release. www.dogpoint.co.nz
