Discovery Point 2015 Marlborough Sauvignon and 2014 Martinborough Pinot Noir

22-Apr-2016
Stephen Bennett MW has a multi-faceted approach to his involvement in the New Zealand wine industry. He’s probably best known for his importation of some excellent value wines from Europe, in particular Spain, that have proven to be extremely successful in the New Zealand market. Stephen has a much more personal involvement with wine in that he makes his own. While he owns no vineyards of his own, he contracts the supply of fruit from high quality sites and has his wines made now at the Hawke’s Bay Wine Co. in Napier to his specifications, and often he is directly involved with the vinification processes. The ‘Discovery Point are Steve’s aspirations to make the best of classical New Zealand styles, and the success of previous vintages have shown he understands the criteria and the consuming market. Here, I review the new Discovery Point Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014 and Martinborough Pinot Noir. www.discoverypoint.co.nz
