Devil’s Staircase Central Otago Pinot Noir 2013

17-Dec-2013
The Devil’s Staircase brand is a secondary one for the highly-regarded Rockburn Wines operation. It is named after the winding road between Queenstown and Kingston along the shores of Lake Wakatipu. The Pinot Noir fruit sources are the company’s vineyards in Gibbston and Pisa, and the wines artfully crafted in healthy commercial volumes by winemaker Malcolm Rees-Francis to deliver considerably more than their prices suggest. The 2013 vintage is a very good one for Central Otago, based on the barrel samples of the Pinot Noirs I’ve seen. Here is my review of the wine. It delivers vibrant fruit in a pretty style. www.rockburn.co.nz
