Delta Wine Co. New Releases

Marlborough's primary grape varieties are the produce of the Delta Wine Co., formed by leading winemaker Matt Thomson and London-based wine distributor David Gleave MW, along with viticulturist Neal Ibbotson and winery infrastructure specialist Ron Stewart. Pinot Noir is the focus, the wines made from fruit from the Delta Farm at the mouth of the Waihopi river, a historic property dating back to 1848, purchased by the group in 2000, planted to Dijon clones in 2002 and 2003. Two wines are made, the ‘Delta' and ‘Hatters Hill' Pinot Noirs, the former being two-thirds of the production, and the latter solely from the hill plantings. Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from Matt Thomson's vineyard in the Dillons Point district. Here are my reviews of the new releases.
