Crush Pad is the accessible and affordable tier of Moana Park, made to the same principles of sustainability, organics and low allergens, preservatives and sulphur, as well as eschewing the use of any animal products, but in a style that emphasises freshness and primary fruit. Moana Park describe the wines as New Zealand’s answer to Beaujolais, made straight from the ‘crush pad’ of the winery to the bottle. Here, I review the 2016 Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and Rosé, made from Hawke’s Bay fruit except for the Sauvignon Blanc, which is Marlborough sourced. www.moanapark.co.nz
