Crafting Legacy: Hampshire Vineyards Unveils Inaugural Releases
Brigid and Greg Hammond bid farewell to the urban hustle of Wellington, opting for the serene embrace of Seddon in 2012.
Rooted in family history for over a century, the Hammond family farm, initially dedicated to crops and livestock, transitioned into viticulture in 2002. The expansive 240-hectare farm now hosts 135 hectares of meticulously tended vines. Embracing regenerative farming practices, the vineyard is renowned for delivering top-tier grapes, contributing to the premium offerings of some of the industry's most prominent labels.
Bringing two decades of expertise in contract growing, Brigid and Greg embarked on a new venture in 2023, unveiling their Hampshire Vineyards Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc. These maiden releases, crafted from handpicked grapes sourced from their own vineyard and expertly overseen by Simon Baker, mark a significant milestone.
Exemplifying a contemporary Marlborough style, both wines showcase opulent fruit, well-balanced acidity, and a refined texture—a reflection of the care and passion invested in their creation.
These limited-edition releases, reflecting the fruit of their labour and commitment, comprise only 300 cases. Secure your share of this exceptional wine by visiting Hampshire Vineyards online. Experience a blend of heritage, craftsmanship, and the pure essence of Marlborough.
